Ngurrala Aboriginal Corporation is located in Macksville on the beautiful Mid North Coast of NSW Australia. Approximately mid-way between Coffs Harbour 50km to the North and 55Km to the South of Kempsey. Ngurrala Aboriginal Corporation was formed in 1994 following two years of work from the Nambucca Valley Koori Network Committee consisting of three Local Aboriginal Land Councils and the Yarrahappinnii Aboriginal Corporation which developed and submitted for a Community Development, Employment Program (CDEP) proposal to the then former ATSIC Commission. Ngurrala officially become incorporated on the 18th April 1995 and opened for business on the 15th April 1996 after purchasing the former Palm World site at Lot 7/44 Wirrimbi Road Macksville and had its first intake of fifty (50) CDEP participants on the 6th May 1996.
Ngurrala Aboriginal Corporation is a Not-For-Profit, Charitable, Community owned and Managed Aboriginal organisation. It has been successfully operating in the region providing vital community support services to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people and celebrates its twentieth one (21) year anniversary in 2017. The board of management is made up of ten (10) Aboriginal community representatives from the following townships of the Nambucca Valley and surrounds; Bowraville, Macksville, Nambucca Heads and Scott’s Heads.
Ngurrala Aboriginal Corporation will improve support services to ensure the capacity of Aboriginal communities and individuals are being met.
Ngurrala Aboriginal Corporation has a vision to broker program solutions that will improve the physical, emotional, mental, cultural and spiritual wellbeing of Aboriginal people.
